Costly Mistake
I was extremely, utterly shocked when I watched the American Idol results show. Ayla was voted off from being the top 12. The first thing that came to my mind was: Are Americans Blind or Deaf or Nuts? How can they not vote her? I was in that moment of shocked....... until I remembered I actually haven't watched the latest episode which the girls performed.
Hence, I restored that episode from Cheryl's recycle bin to watch again. I couldn't believe, after 2 stunning performance from her, I actually thought it was more than enough for her to sail through the top 12. The moment when she sang "Reflection" by Christina Aguilera, I could not stop but playing that part of the episode again to watch. Honestly I think she sang, if not better, as good as Christina. Not to forget to mention, look at her, man... She looks so pretty and gorgeous!!!!!!! And tall, yeah I know. Think she is younger than me but ermm....the height differ by too much that I could imagine. *shy*
Look at her... My heart is melted...
I didnt skipped to the part which she performed only. I watched the whole show (well, except Kennik Sky after the moment she sang =P) to see how everyone performed, and the actual reason why she didn't outshine. After the whole show I kinda got the idea. Maybe it was the song, that she sang, that didn't show off her vocal. She showed off her powerful singing skills and ability from the previous 2 episodes and this one was just, ordinary.
But still...................... She was so so good and why didn't the audience remembered the good part of her? Why was she penalised for one, just one mistake on her song choice? Moreover, she wasn't lousy in the performance, it was just not superb. I particulay think Paris wasn't performing well enough but she wasn't voted off. Well, guess I have to take it easy.
But still.......................?
That shows how costly a mistake can be in our life. Making the right decision ain't easy at all. Sometimes the difference between the decisions is just one line apart, however, the outcome could be extremely different. Some people are lucky, they are still able to succeed, or escape from the bad consequences eventhough mistakes have been made. Nevertheless, some people are not. One mistake is enough to kill them off. Their chances, their opportunities, their performances, and their achievements vanish, just by one costly mistake. Ayla is one this time.
Come to think of it, people learn and grow from mistakes they make. A costly mistake could well bring a big lesson to someone, however the impact is significant as well. Some people are so much influenced by the impact, that they cannot let go, cannot learn, never grow, causing the mistake to be an even more costly one.
However, if someone was able to learn from a costly mistake, I think he/she will grow to be wiser, and tougher. No matter in what aspects in life. Because he/she learn something that lucky people don't learn. They are more likely to be still able to stand up from failure, because they stood up before.
Lucky or costly mistake. If I get to choose, I wish I can choose both.
Hahahahaa....

Lucky people? I think luck is a very uncertain uncertainty (looking at my bet365.com account). Lucky people, one day when their luck runs out, only they realise how costly a small mistake can be. Then only they learn. But someone who is used to being lucky, is it easy to learn and grow?

Hahahahaa....
But life is never easy, sometimes we don't get to choose to be lucky, or to make costly mistake. Sometimes you choose to go for luck, but end up you make a costly mistake, or vice versa....
No matters what our decisions end up to be, the most important thing is, we learn. Learn from mistake, or learn to appreciate.
I hope I'll remember this, always.
Ayla is a winner to me too!
